Toy Crane

I was getting bored walking along the shops that I decided to go their amusement plaza. There I saw some classmates playing some arcade games or dating. I greeted them and watch their game. After that I went to counter to load my card so that I may play some games. The machines are paid not by tokens but just simply swipe of the card as long it been loaded ^^.

And I went to the Toy Crane machine, where you pick your selected plushie toy and if your lucky you can have it as a prize. But sadly I never had luck to grab a plushie ever since. Still I play it praying that I am lucky this time. I select the plushie, which is cute and easy to grab by the crane. And there it was the totoro plushie and I swipe my card and try to get it.

1st try… oh great it didn’t..
2nd try … arghh
3rd try … oh please…
4th try …insufficient load

Sadly I have no more money left to load and play. Well at least I tried. As I turn my back to continue my day, I bump accidentally a person. “Sorry…. Gerald.. Ahh Hi” I said. “What are you doing here?” Gerald asked. I told him I just playing and ask him back his question. “I’m playing too… sadly I alone cause my playmate is not here” Gerald formally answered, “When will Raven be back?”.  I told him that maybe he return after this month due to his success in his business. Gerald smiled and that was the first time I see him smiled.

“So… care to be representative of your cousin” Gerald asked. I was surprised and blushed. I told him slowly that I don’t have enough money to play and I’m not good at playing games anymore.  He didn’t believe what I said “Not good at playing” cause my cousin Raven (I gonna scold him) brags that I can play well and better player than him. He also insisted that I played cause he will pay for it. So he takes my card and loads it with few bucks. He hold my hand take me to some games. We played… from King of Fighters.. to racing and funny games. I play with him without doubt and sometimes I beat him that made me feel a happy and also shame cause he is a guy. But Gerald just smiled and praises me. He also taught me to play better. But to summarise it all, we had a great time.

Before we left the plaza he went to the toy crane machine. He ask me what plushie I like. I shyly point the chubby totoro and told him it’s so hard to get. He just chuckled and played it.

Guess what he successfully grab the plushie and give it to me as memento and thankful gift (it melt my heart).

He accompanies me home. “Since our business meeting in Friday will be cancelled, care to join me again?” Gerald seriously asked me. I was became silent caused I don’t know what to say. Gerald looked at me and says that he will wait for my answer. Then he waved goodbye and went off.
